Community Church
Located at No.53 Hengshan Road, it was built in 1925. It is Gothic style, with Brick-and-wood structure. It is composed of a church and a three-floor annex building which are connected as an L-shaped whole. At the entrance is an arch porch, with pointed-arch galleries at both wings. In 1917, some Americans loving choiring spontaneously organized a choir at the house of an American in Shanghai. In 1920, a management committee was established, and it decided to establish a church named Concord Church. In 1923, it purchased the land on the opposite of Shanghai American School at Avenue Petain, which was later renamed as “Community Church”. The Community Church was announced by Shanghai Municipal People's Government as Shanghai Municipality Cultural Relics Protection Unit and Shanghai Municipality Outstanding Heritage Architecture on September 25, 1989.
