Science Building (Zhesheng Building)
In 1936, the engineering laboratory started construction. On May 21, 1937, to commemorate the former president Sun Fo (courtesy name: Zhesheng)’s contributions to school construction, the engineering laboratory which would soon be completed was named as “Zhesheng Building”, and famous modern calligrapher and KMT founding member Yu Youren was invited by letter to inscribe the building name. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, the construction was stopped. The construction was re-started in June 1946 and was completed on October 24 of the same year. It was a three-floor laboratory building. The key-delivering ceremony was held at the 51st anniversary of the school on April 8, 1947. It now serves as the Science Building. The Science Building was announced by Shanghai Municipal People's Government as Shanghai Municipality Cultural Relics Protection Unit on April 4, 2014.
