Tomb of Xu Guangqi
Located in Guangqi Park, No.17 Nandan Road, the Tomb of Xu Guangqi is a joint tomb for the couple of Xu Guangqi and the couples of their four grandchildren Erjue, Erjue, Erdou and Ermo. Xu Guangqi (1562~1633) was born in Shanghai. His highest position was Minister of Rites and Grand Secretary of the Royal Library. He died in 1633 in Beijing and was buried at this site in 1641. In 1981, the mausoleum in the graveyard was renovated into a 2.2 m-high large oval tomb covering an area of 300 sq m. There is a stone memorial archway erected at the entrance of the tomb passage, with a pair of stone ornamental pillars on both front sides of the stone memorial archway, and a pair of figures, horses, tigers and sheep in stone on both sides of the tomb passage. Besides, there is a marble cross erected on the tomb passage. They were totally renovated in 2003. The Tomb of Xu Guangqi was announced by the State Council as one of the third batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units on January 13, 1988.
