Nanchunhua House

It was located in Guangqi Park, No.17 Nandan Road. It was originally located at No.5 Nanchunhua House, Meilong Road. It was firstly built in the Ming Dynasty as the residence of an official surnamed Zhang. Nanchunhua House is composed of three parts, with a width of five rooms. There are four lying stone lions on both sides of the gate. Inside is an etiquette gate. The front brick of the lintel is engraved with seal characters “Shi Lv Kao Xiang” (Review the past and examine new situations ahead), while the back brick is engraved with regular scripts “Ke Qia Yong Xi” (Achieve prosperity and harmony). During the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, Zhang family declined and sold out the whole Nanchunhua House. In 1958, Shanghai County Government funded its renovation. In 1984, the location of Nanchunhua House was placed under the jurisdiction of Xuhui District. In June 2003, Nanchunhua House was moved to Guangqi Park, No.17 Nandan Road. It is now Xu Guangqi Memorial Hall. Nanchunhua House was announced by Xuhui District People's Government as Cultural Relic Preservation Unit of Xuhui District on January 5, 2004.
