Former Site of National Medical College of Shanghai
Located at No.138 Yixueyuan Road, it was built in 1936 and designed by Pacific Engineering Co. It is Chinese classical revival style, having a four-floor reinforced concrete structure. The facade is symmetric, with large hipped-gable roofs in the middle, quadrangular pyramidal-roof square pavilions on top of the two wings, and three stone arch gates in the middle of the first floor. The north part is encircled on three sides, while a wing extends along the central axis in the south. The building features reasonably divided functional areas. Medical College of the Fourth Zhongshan University was founded in early 1927 in Wusong, and was destroyed by Japanese artillery in 1932. Later on, it was moved to its present site, and was renamed as National Medical College of Shanghai. Now it is Building 1 of Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University. The Former Site of National Medical College of Shanghai was announced by Shanghai Municipal People's Government as Shanghai Municipality Outstanding Heritage Architecture on February 15, 1994, and announced by Xuhui District People's Government as Cultural Relic Preservation Unit of Xuhui District on December 4, 2008.
